For years, Akoma’s impact in San Bernardino has been undeniable. From helping students improve their GPAs to mentoring future leaders, Akoma has served over 8,000 scholars through after-school programs, mentorship, and hands-on learning experiences.

  • Expanded Learning Programs at Rio Vista Elementary and Del Vallejo Middle School provide mentorship and academic support.
  • Sankofa Saturday helps scholars build leadership skills while exploring culture and creativity.
  • Girl Scout Troop #1419 (SGGSC) builds confidence and teamwork.
  • College and Career Readiness guides scholars toward a strong future in education or career pathways.
  • Anne Shirrells Community Garden connects scholars with sustainability, nutrition, and giving back.
  • Internship Programs offer real-world experiences through high schools, UCR, CSUSB, College Corp – SBVC, Chaffey College, Federal Work Study, and Youth Action Project (YAP).
