Mental health matters, especially for teens. That’s why at AKOMA Unity Center, we’re dedicated to strengthening mental health and mentorship in our community. We know the journey can be tough, but you’re not alone—and we’ve got something special that can help you grow and support others along the way.
We’re inviting YOU to join us for an informational meeting on becoming a Certified Teen Mental Health First Aid Peer Leader!

Why is this important?
- Mental health affects everyone. Whether it’s dealing with stress, anxiety, or just life’s ups and downs, it’s key to know how to handle tough situations, both for yourself and for others.
- Mentorship matters. Learning how to become a peer leader gives you the skills to support friends, classmates, or anyone in need of a listening ear.

Tips to Strengthen Your Mental Health:

- Practice self-care. Take time to do things that help you recharge, whether it’s reading, walking, or just chilling with friends.
- Know your resources. At AKOMA, we offer programs that can help you understand mental health and how to provide support to others.
