Building the Future at Akoma Unity Center

Something exciting is happening in San Bernardino, and it is not just another class or after-school activity. At Akoma Unity Center, our Robotics and Automation Lab is reshaping what it means to prepare youth for the future. This is not just about programming machines or connecting circuits. It is about empowering young minds with real-world skills in robotics, sensors, and logic systems, in a community that has often been left out of high-tech opportunities.

We recently watched one of our scholars steps into their first automation class with zero experience and walk out saying, “Wait – I can actually do this?” That moment of realization is what the lab is designed to spark. In an increasingly tech-driven world, we are giving youth a head starts with hands-on learning and a belief that they belong in the rooms where tomorrow is being built.

If you know a student who would benefit from the Robotics and Automation Lab, now is the time to act. Sign them up today or help us reach more youth by donating to support Akoma Unity Center.

What Makes This Program Different

Akoma’s Robotics and Automation Lab is made possible through a partnership with Accessible Automation, offering an eight-week curriculum that is completely free for participants. This program introduces students to foundational concepts in robotics, from simple automation systems to how sensors and logic controls are used in modern tech.

Real-World Tech, Right in Your Backyard

Students are not just watching tutorials or working with outdated materials. They are getting their hands on real equipment, engaging in active problem-solving, and learning by doing. This kind of immersive, real-world training is rare, especially in communities like San Bernardino. The impact is clear: Akoma’s Robotics and Automation Lab is opening doors for future careers in STEM fields that may have once felt out of reach.

Tech Empowerment for the 21st Century

By learning robotics and automation, students gain more than technical know-how. They build confidence, critical thinking, and a sense of purpose. In a world where automation is shaping everything from transportation to healthcare, having these skills is a form of empowerment. Our scholars are discovering their capacity to innovate, lead, and contribute meaningfully to a tech-driven future.

Join the Movement

Akoma Unity Center believes that every young person deserves access to transformative learning experiences, especially in communities where opportunity has been limited for too long. The Robotics and Automation Lab is more than a course; it is a gateway to possibility, innovation, and self-belief.

Classes are happening now. Spread the word, enroll a scholar, or support our mission by donating. Help Akoma Unity Center build the future, one robot at a time.
