Make Your Voice Heard on October 11

your voice, your vote

As the fall season begins, change is in the air. Leaves shift, routines adjust, and young people across San Bernardino are considering how their voices can shape the future. For many, that question starts with voting. But the bigger question is, why does voting matter, and where can young people turn for real answers?

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, Akoma Unity Center will host Your Voice, Your Vote #2, an event designed specifically to empower youth in San Bernardino. Presented by ADAPP, Akoma’s Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program, this youth-led forum will allow young people to ask direct questions to elected officials and hear unfiltered responses. If you have ever wondered what voter registration looks like, how redistricting impacts your community, or what tenant housing rights mean for your future, this is your chance to find out.

Don’t miss out – come to Your Voice, Your Vote #2 at Akoma Unity Center and make sure your voice is heard this October 11th, 2025 .

What to Expect at the Event

your voice, your vote

For too long, civic spaces have often overlooked young perspectives. Yet, it is the youth who live with the outcomes of today’s decisions. This event builds confidence by giving young people the tools to understand voting and civic engagement. With the 2025 elections ahead, this gathering provides knowledge that translates into action.

Your Voice, Your Vote #2 will run from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Akoma Unity Center, located at 1367 N. California Street in San Bernardino. Topics on the agenda include pertinent issues like voter registration and Proposition 50 redistricting in California. Additionally, the event will discuss tenant housing rights and transitional-age youth housing resources. What makes this gathering unique is that the questions come from youth themselves. Instead of adults telling young people why they should care, it will be the young leaders driving the dialogue and shaping the conversation.

Building Confidence Through Civic Engagement

Events like these help turn uncertainty into confidence. By understanding how to register to vote, how policies affect housing, and how leaders respond to community concerns, young people leave empowered to act. Beyond politics, the event fosters a culture of civic engagement in San Bernardino. For youth, this encourages responsibility, awareness, and leadership. This is more than a one-day event – it is the beginning of a season of change.
